Finding Your Why
The older I get, the more I realize how important it is to know why we do what we do. Not just the “what” of our lives — jobs, schedules, to-do lists — but the heartbeat underneath it all.
For me, my “why” has been unfolding over time. I’ve fallen in love with coaching women, walking alongside teen girls, and helping them see that they were made for more. And here’s the sweet part — as I remind them of that truth, I’m learning it for myself too. 💕
Friend, maybe you’re in that space where you’re wondering what your why is. Can I just encourage you? Be brave enough to ask. Brave enough to slow down and listen. Brave enough to believe that God really did make you on purpose and for a purpose.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10
Your why doesn’t have to be flashy. It doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It just has to be yours — the thing that makes your soul light up, the thing God knit into your DNA from the very beginning.
So if you haven’t found it yet, keep leaning in. It’s there. And when you do find it? Don’t be afraid to walk it out boldly. The world needs your why.
Reflection Questions 🌸
- What is something that makes your heart come alive when you’re doing it?
- When do you feel closest to God — like you’re living right in the sweet spot of His purpose for you?
- Who are the people you feel called to serve, encourage, or walk alongside?
Take a few minutes with these questions. Pray over them. Journal them. Talk them out with a friend. And remember — your why doesn’t have to be perfect or polished. It just has to be yours.
