Finding Your “Why”

The older I get, the more I realize—it’s not just about what we’re doing… it’s about why we’re doing it.

Because life can get really full of doing, can’t it?
Schedules. To-do lists. Responsibilities.
But underneath all of that… there’s a deeper heartbeat.

And that’s where your “why” lives.

For me, it didn’t show up all at once—it’s been unfolding over time.
I’ve found so much joy in coaching women, walking alongside teen girls, and reminding them they were made for more.

And here’s the beautiful, full-circle part…
as I speak that truth over them, God keeps whispering it right back to me too.

Maybe you’re in a season where you’re wondering, What is my “why”?
If that’s you, may I gently encourage you?

Be brave enough to ask.
Brave enough to slow down.
Brave enough to sit in the quiet and listen.

Because you weren’t made randomly—you were made on purpose, for a purpose.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10

And your why?
It doesn’t have to be big or impressive.
It doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Sometimes it’s found in the small things…
the conversations you can’t stop thinking about,
the people you feel drawn to,
the moments that make your heart feel fully alive.

That’s not random—that’s a clue.

So if you haven’t found your why yet, don’t panic.
Just keep leaning in.

God is so faithful to reveal it, step by step.

And when you start to see it?
Don’t shrink back.

Walk it out—right where you are, with what you have.

Because the world doesn’t need a copy of someone else…
it needs you, living fully in your why.

Reflection Questions

• What makes your heart come alive when you’re doing it?
• When do you feel most connected to God—like you’re right in step with Him?
• Who do you naturally feel drawn to encourage or walk alongside?

Take a few minutes with these. Pray through them. Journal if that’s your thing. Talk it out with a friend. And remember—your why doesn’t have to be perfect or polished.

It just has to be yours.
